Current Skin Care Routine

This might shock you but I don’t wash my face in the morning or at night, only when I shower. I shower about every other day to three days. But every day I wipe my face down with some micellar water whether it’s to remove my makeup or just refresh my skin.

Everyday

Morning; I start my day with a quick splash of water after brushing my teeth to get any eye gunk or anything off my face. Then I use my Clinique moisturizer followed by the Formula 10.0.6 blemish spot treatment (if I have any). After I let that set, I have been loving the Mario Badescu Rosewater Facial spray and it has been making my skin so soft and moisturized.

Night; If I haven’t showered, I use the Garnier Micellar water to remove my makeup or just clean my face. Then I use the Formula 10.0.6 spot treatment again. Followed by the Formula 10.0.6 P.M. Perfector night cream or the Neutrogena Deep Moisture night cream. Then because I’ve been loving the Mario Badescu Facial spray, I use it again.

In the Shower

Occasionally, before I shower if I don’t have makeup on I will use the Kalos Triple Threat Detox Masque that I received in a FabFitFun or Causebox.

Super simple; I use the Neutrogena Naturals Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover and I use this whether I have makeup on or not. This cleanser takes all of my face and eye makeup off like a dream, I’m not sure if it’s meant to be used for eye makeup but it works. Then I use the Aveeno Skin Brightening Daily scrub to help with any texture that I have. This is followed by one of the routines above, depending on what time of day it is.

That’s It!

April Makeup Haul

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer: Recently I have been noticing more redness of my cheeks and on my nose, so I decided to pick up a foundation. I looked into the Huda No Filter foundation but it was much pricier than I wanted. I went to the Sephora counter to be matched. I am in color .5 Breeze. The Sephora worker applied this to my face with a brush and I don’t think it looked great, so I’m going to try it with a slightly damp sponge and come back with a review. [Link]

Smashbox Primer Water: I usually use the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray but I was l also running out of my primer and saw that this does both. I know this sounds stupid, but this is really wet. I appreciate that there is no scent but it is very wet, you need to make sure not to spray too close to your face when setting your makeup. Overall, I think the setting effect is good. [Link]

Colourpop Twitterpatted Eyeshadow: I am really into light pink eyeshadows all over my lid. And I saw that Colourpop came out with Twitterpated and was really excited. It is a Supershock Shadow. This color looks fairly dark in the pan but when you swatch and use it (better payoff when applying with your finger, btw) there actually isn’t much color. This shadow is mostly sparkles, and it has a lot of fallout. [Link]

Colourpop Concealers: So I am really bad at color matching so I ordered three different colors. Light 12 & Light 14. Then I think Fair 6, for a highlight because the website recommended it. I normally use the Maybelline Age Rewind (which can be a little orange). These concealers do oxidize quite quickly. I tried them over a tinted moisturizer today without a primer and I didn’t love the way the concealer sat on my skin, I’ll need to try it again. [Link]

Colourpop Blotted Lips: This is my favorite formula that Colourpop makes, they are transfer proof and they have a lot of “your lips but better” colors which I am a huge fan of. I bought the two from Eva’s collab, Party Wave & Love Bite.

Colourpop Lip Pencils: I have been wearing lip colors more often and learned that lip pencils can make a huge difference. I wasn’t sure where to start so I ordered them in Toy & Brink. Figured they would match most of the colors that I own.

Colourpop Brow Pencil: I have been using the Glossier Boy brow more frequently and have been loving it, but I have graduation and some events coming up and want to make sure my brows are up to par with the rest of my makeup. I got it in Dark Brown, I’ll let you know if that’s too dark or not. [Link]

Covergirl CG Smoothers: I used to use this back in high school, and recently have been looking into tinted moisturizers again. I wanted the Aveeno CC cream but they don’t sell my color in store. I got this in Fair to Light, and do wish I had gotten it in Light to Medium but this provides nice hydration and a nice smoothness to the skin. This smells really nice, too. [Link]

Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Leave-in Spray: I have been heat styling my hair a lot more recently because it is usually just a frizzy, curly mess. So I wanted to buy a heat protectant. I read this on one of Allure’s lists and it was one of the cheapest ones. [Link]

KL Polish First Impressions

My KL Polish order finally came in today! It came super quickly. I ordered Point Zero, Aquarius, Graham & Taurus. When I got home from work today I immediately painted my nails. Above, is my nails painted with Taurus.

First, the brush. The brush is flexible and leaves no streaks but it’s very wide. The width made it difficult to paint my pinky & pointer finger without getting polish on my skin.

Second, the formula. The formula is thick. I love it, Taurus was basically opaque with only one coat. ~As a beginner~ I like to only put a little polish on the brush but I found it was easier to spread this evenly with so little. But also I’m dramatic and they came out fine, if I say so myself.

Overall, 9/10. The brush is something I could easily get used to and the formula of this seems really promising.

I cannot wait to use the other colors, I’ll write another post about how the polish wore over time with pictures of the other colors as well.

Ouai Wave Spray Review

234bc1c6-d919-4333-bcd6-c49f012c3c9e

My hair was stick-straight until I got to college & it decided to frizz and get an odd wavy texture. It was pretty terrible, to be honest. Then I decided to cut my hair short and it ended up being pretty straight and smooth again. I thought it was back to normal for good. But as it grew back it just kept getting frizzy.

I’ve tried hair masks, I’ve conditioned my hair for 15 minutes in the shower, I’ve used Moroccan oil, coconut oil, etc. And nothing tamed the beast.

I heard about Ouai hair products on Youtube and then started looking into reviews. I was at Sephora and saw that they had a mini size for $12 (1.7 oz) and was going to buy it until I saw the 5 oz for $26 (I’m not sure if that’s actually a better deal) but I bought the larger size.

I’ve used it about 4-6 times and think that I can give an honest review. This product is weird. You can use it in damp or dry hair, but I find that no matter when I use it, that this product makes my hair sticky and hard. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. It honestly just makes my hair feel dirty. I watched the ‘How to’ videos on Youtube and on the Sephora website but I just don’t like it. I’m going to continue to use it in different ways and see if I can find a way to make it not make my hair feel sticky and hard.

Ill keep you updated.

My Favorite Youtubers

Throughout high school and my first two years in college, I watched a lot of Youtubers. I watched comedy YouTubers like nigaghiga and beauty YouTubers like Ignrid Nilsen. My junior year of college I fell out of it and found myself with a Netflix addiction. In September, I seem to have watched all of the shows that I wanted on Netflix and found myself enjoying Youtube again. I only watch beauty Youtubers and their vlog channels now, though. If you’re interested, below is a list of my favorite YouTubers at the moment (in no particular order).

you

  • KathleenLights: OK, so KathleenLights is my #1 favorite currently. She is extremely relatable and quirky. She has a few collabs with Colourpop, an affordable makeup brand. She just started her own nail polish line, KL Polish which has exploded. Also, Kathleen just always seems so excited. She mainly does makeup tutorials, makeup hauls, makeup reviews.
  • Aspyn Ovard and her vlogging channel: Aspyn is a lifestyle Youtuber, she mostly does life hacks and fashion related video. She has her own clothing store online. I like her vlogs with her husband, Parker because they seem sort of relatable and I get bored with my own life sometimes.
  • Gretchen Geraghty: Gretchen is not relatable at all. She goes to Boston University, which is very expensive and lives a very luxurious lifestyle. But she posts A LOT of clothing hauls which I personally enjoy. I watch her luxury hauls even though I could never afford anything.
  • Ingrid Nilsen: I have been watching Ingrid for YEARS, #tbt to missglamorazzi (not sure how to spell it). She used to mainly be beauty and fashion but she has expanded her channel to be more of a lifestyle channel. She is very open about self-care and women’s health. She does still do beauty and a lot of skin and hair care videos. She has done extremely well on Youtube so a lot of her products are unaffordable but I appreciate how real and honest she is.
  • Zoella and her vlogging channel: I’ll be honest, her accent drives me crazy but Zoella is SO cute and has some great beauty videos. She also has her vlogging channel, that I don’t love because to be honest, I don’t really care for her boyfriend. She also has some of her own beauty products which are adorable.
  • Rachhloves: She is a Canadian Youtuber who has a beauty channel and a lifestyle channel. I haven’t watched her lifestyle channel yet though. Rachel is super relatable and does a lot of beauty reviews and hauls. I love watching her honest beauty first impressions.
  • mirellabellebeauty: I sort of forgot about this channel but Mirella is super relatable and very honest which I really appreciate. She is a professional makeup artist and does some breathtaking looks. She is very down to earth and I feel like she doesn’t show off like a lot of other YouTubers.
  • Hot Ones by First We Feast: This isn’t a beauty channel, but watch the Kevin Hart video. It may be the funniest video!!!

I have been enjoying a lot of their Vlogmas videos this year as well, so if you like that kind of videos definitely check them out.

What’s in my bag?

Meku Card Holder: I got this card holder off of Amazon when I realized that I hated carrying around a huge wallet in my backpack & coat pocket at school. This cardholder was under $10 and I bought it in February. It has three slots for cards, one for cash, and one for your driver’s license/ID. I currently have 8 cards in the back, my tile in the cash slot and then only my ID on the other side. This has been holding up great.

Vaseline Lip Balm: I’ve mentioned this many times but this is my favorite lip balm, it smells super great and is one of the only lip balms that doesn’t dry my lips out. It’s durable and I own about four of them to keep in various places.

*Tip: Don’t leave these in your car during the summer, they’ll melt and leak.

Altoids: When my sister started driving about 2-3 years ago she always kept Altoids in the car, and I used to sneak them all the time when on long rides or after eating something particularly smelly. I now consider them a purse essential.

American Red Cross Stress Ball: I brought this with me when I went to get my most current tattoo because I hadn’t gotten one in three years, had never gone alone and couldn’t remember how badly they hurt. It didn’t hurt at all but I wanted to have this just in case.

Colourpop’s Deja Vu Blotted Lip: I like to have a natural lip color with me because anything can happen. I like this one because I can build it up if I want but it can also be super subtle. They don’t sell it anymore but it was about $6 so it won’t be devastating if I lose it.

Two Calw Clips: I prefer clips over ponytails, especially when doing a bun because I have really thin hair and they work best at keeping my buns in place. Also, now I know where to look when I can’t find one in my apartment.

Shock Top Coaster & Bud Light Vouchers: A few of my friends have been turning 22 lately and Bud Light has had some sponsors out giving out vouchers 2 of the times we went out.

Tampons & Pads: My body loves to surprise me so I always have tampons and pads so I can be prepared. I actually prefer organic tampons but I just happened to have these

Snickers Wrapper: Clearly I was very hungry because guess what, I got a surprise period the other day. I got this Almond Snickers because they didn’t have any 3 Musketeers and this Snickers was actually so good! 10/10 would buy again

Keys: In April, I bought a 2011 Subaru Legacy and let my sister keep the Hyundai. So I have that key, my apartment/building key, a house key (that I have never ever used), my stop & shop and CVS loyalty cards, my Haiti Designs Co. keychain and then my other Tile.

The Purse: The purse I’m currently using I purchased this summer at a Coach Outlet in South Carolina, it is a light tan color with yellow and silver hardware. I got it for an extra 50% off their outlet price. There aren’t any pockets on the inside which I don’t mind. It is very light and can be worn as a crossbody. I can’t find it online but their 1941 collection is gorgeous.

I obviously don’t have enough followers to be sponsored but I highly recommend the Tile. It is a phone app that you should always have running in the background on your phone and connects via Bluetooth. I have one in my wallet and on my keys. If you lose your keys/wallet you can press Find on your phone and it’ll make them ring and show you the last place it connected with them. If you lose them you can tell the Tile community and when someone else with Tile comes near them it’ll update their location for you. It also works vice versa (sorta), if you lose your phone and press the little button on any tile twice it’ll make your phone ring (even if it’s on silent). These have saved my ass so many times.

October Favorites

This month I rediscovered some items that I already owned and did a little bit of shopping. Here are the things that I enjoyed a lot this month and used frequently.

Formula 10.0.6 Berry Face Wash: I already have two of their mud face masks. The orange Deep Down Detox mask and the pink Pores Be Pure mask, and I liked this brand a lot so I decided to get one of their everyday face washes. It smells like berries, it’s pretty gentle and not drying. I use it morning and night on most days. I also occasionally use it with my Clinique face brush, too.

IMG_6313.jpg

Head & Shoulders Almond Oil Shampoo and Conditioner: I’ve been using Head & Shoulders for years and every time I try to branch away from Head & Shoulders my dry and flaky scalp comes back. I have the Smooth & Silky conditioner at home for a while and I loved it, maybe more than this conditioner actually. But this conditioner really hydrates my hair, it doesn’t really help with my curls though. It smells super good and I like that the H&S conditioners are meant to go on your hair from scalp to ends. The directions actually tell you to massage it into your scalp.

Oral B Pro 1000 Electric Toothbrush: My mom convinced me to buy an electric toothbrush a month or two ago and I surprisingly love it. So every 30 seconds the toothbrush has a distinctive vibration to let you know to move onto another quarter of your mouth, and then another distinctive vibration at 2 minutes to let you know you’re done.It also has a light that tells you when it needs to be recharged. This lasts me about 4-6 days between charges.

Gold Nike Rosches: I bought these at Marshalls for about $50 and they have a snakeskin pattern to them. They go great with jeans and leggings. I like to wear them to campus and work because they’re super comfortable, I would never work out in these because they have don’t have the right arch, in my opinion.

IMG_6311.jpg

Old Navy vest: I bought this last year but we’ve had a few days where this vest came in handy. I like to wear it over my flannel or a long sleeve sweater. I bought it on sale and I think it was a great purchase. I don’t love the hood but not a huge deal. I think a vest is a great fall piece, especially since a lot of my leggings & sweaters don’t have pockets.

Checkered Vans: Lately, these have been my go-to shoe. They were super easy to break-in. They go with almost everything that I own. I’ve worn them to work, tailgates, classes. I am asking for a solid-color pair for Christmas, too.

Processed with VSCO with kk1 preset

Navy Blue crocs: I love to wear these after a long day of work or during my 1 hour and 15-minute drive home on Sundays when I’m a little hungover. I love to wear these with socks because I don’t like when my feet stick to them. I normally wear these with leggings, flannel, and vest. My go-to cozy outfit.

Covergirl Lash Blast Bloom mascara: I included this in a previous haul but I ended up loving it and had to share. I was previously using the Clinique High Impact mascara but I bought this one from Target because I liked what the applicator looked like. I tried it out and it makes my lashes so much longer than the Clinique one and I love it. It’s probably 1/2 the price but I like it so much better.

My New Tattoo

I have three tattoos already and decided to get another one last week. I wanted to share my experience. I googled and Pinterest-searched “tulip tattoo” and “tulip sketch” and I pinned and saved a lot of pictures. This was my favorite.

I decided that I didn’t want the tattoo in color so I changed it to black and white in the iPhone settings. I made an appointment with a tattoo artist and emailed her the photo, I asked for it to be about 6 cm long on my inner upper arm. I basically put the shading into her hands and had faith since I stalked her on Instagram before and after scheduling with her. This is how it turned out….it looks a little pink from my skin being slightly irritated. If you wanna read about the time, pain, and price then keep on reading 🙂

IMG_2863.jpg

I made sure I wore a tank top under my sweatshirt so I wouldn’t need to roll up my sleeve and accidentally rub the tattoo too hard while pulling it down (I am super paranoid for like two weeks after I get a tattoo). It took her about 10-15 minutes to clean down and prepare her place, so she took me around 2 and I was out by 2:17. Alysha had me lay on my back with my left arm slightly twisted towards her. I asked her about the pain scale and she said that it wouldn’t hurt but it might be a little pinchy. I already have a tattoo to the right of my right knee, on my right ribs, and on my left shoulder, none of these hurt so I wasn’t scared. This one was a little more pinchy though because the skin was looser. So I would say 0/10 on the pain scale and a 1/10 on the annoying scale. I paid $80 for this tattoo, their minimum was $70 and then a 20% tip.

My Holiday (& Birthday) Wish List

I know that the holidays aren’t about gifts but about family but my mother requests a wish list every year and gets mad at me if I don’t put one together. She loves buying presents.

So, my birthday is about a week before Christmas so making a wish list can be sort of overwhelming. But here is what I am thinking about adding to my wishlist this year…

-I already have all of the technology that I would want, so that’s not on my list this year. But for those interested in something cool, the HP sprocket is a popular item this year.

A new phone case. I have the loopy phone case, which I love, but sometimes, I just want something with a little more protection and a little more fashionable.

Makeup brushes. Right now I use the contour brush that came with my Smashbox trio and I hate it. It’s not as soft as I want.

Mules/Slide Ons. It’s no secret that I adore shoes. But this year, especially this fall, I’ve been eyeing the mule trend, I love slip on shoes and I think they go super great with jeans

Black Booties. Everyone already has these but I am a little behind, but this year I am trying to step up my bootie game

Oversized sweaters. I love sweaters but a lot of mine are from high school, so they’re a little small now and just not as cute as I want. I love the oversized trend because it’s cozy and can go with leggings, jeans, skirts.

Oversized Denim Jacket. I love the denim jacket style. I’m not sure I’d wear it with jeans but I would definitely wear it with black leggings, black jeans, dresses, skirts.

Bomber jacket. A style that I loved when I was in elementary and middle school and a look that I think would be great to rock again. I think it would go great with a t-shirt, jeans/leggings, sneakers or even booties. I think a bomber jacket and a denim jacket are both staples in a wardrobe.

Denim Skirt. I am not really a skirt girl but I would like to be and I think a denim skirt is the perfect way. You can dress them up or you can dress them down. You can wear them with tights or they can be a great alternative to shorts.

Basic White Tee. Today while thinking about outfits I realized that I don’t have a basic white tee. A white t-shirt is the perfect layering piece for any outfit or the perfect top for an outfit with a statement shoe or bottom.

Ring. Lately, I’ve been thinking that I want a birthstone ring or just a ring from my mother that I can have forever. A simple ring that I can wear every day.

Two-layer makeup bag. I really need a new way to keep all of my makeup together and I think these two-layer bags are a great way to organize your makeup whether you’re traveling or you have limited space in your apartment.

Tarte Toasted palette. I love warm-toned makeup and this is a little warmer than I’m used to but I think it’ll be perfect for every day, the holidays, etc. I swatched the colors and they’re a great formula.

what’re you thinking of asking for?
